Andreas Nel
Andreas was part of a team that pioneered the concept of special provisions and protection offered to victims of sexual offences and interacted with overseas organisations such as the Scotland Yard Obscene Publications Branch, United States (US) Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Child Exploitation Unit. He oversaw the SAPS Child Protection Field Unit in Johannesburg, was second in command of the Johannesburg, Sexual Offences Unit (SOU), acted as branch commander for the Johannesburg, Domestic Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (DCS) Unit and was seconded to the Serious Violent Crime Investigation Service (SVCIS) for covert operations.
Andreas coordinated several international investigations by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Queensland Police Service (QPS), Australia. He was also selected to work, in co-operation with the US Secret Service on the personal protection of Hilary Clinton during her official state visit to South Africa (SA).
After buying discharge from the SAPS, he obtained a diploma in Criminal Justice and Forensic Auditing at the Randse Afrikaanse Universiteit (RAU) and later became the national security and investigations manager for G4S Cash Solutions (SA) (Pty) Ltd.
Andre Nel
After serving as infantry officer in the South African Defence Force (SADF), André joined the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and functioned as operational intelligence officer for twenty (20) years. He obtained an Honours degree in International Politics, and Diplomas in Group Psychodynamics and Organisation Development through the University of South Africa (UNISA). He has extensive experience in security operations in Africa and the Middle East.
